Review: Febreze Fabric Refresher Tested on the Worst Odors

June 17th, 2009

Febreze Lavender We were able to test out the new Febreze Fabric Refresher three times in my family recently, on the worst possible odors!  Febreze was able to combat a child who threw up in their bed, a child that wet the bed, and a child that threw up in our moving car!

We tested the Febreze fabric refresher in lavender vanilla and comfort scent, which is very light and not overly perfumey.

Helpful for Many Common Parent Situations

As most parents know, kid accidents come at the worst possible times and in the most inconvenient places.  Febreze Fabric Refresher is good for many common situations involving fabric or upholstery that cannot be washed in the washing machine.

According to the package, Febreze recommends using the fabric refresher on such items as sofas, curtains, carpets, cars, gym bags, bedding, fabric and canvas shoes, and in the air.

Mattresses, furniture, and vehicle interiors are all perfect examples of areas that are too big to be cleaned in a washing machine, and must be spot cleaned.  In these situations, it seems like you can never quite get the spots as clean as you’d like, and often there is a residual smell that can’t be eliminated.   This is where Febreze Fabric Refresher comes in.

Easy to Use

The new Febreze Fabric Refresher is very easy to use, and comes in a convenient trigger/handle bottle.  To use, you simply spray the area the until lightly damp, then allow to dry.  It couldn’t be easier!  Once dry, most, if not all, of the odor will be gone, replaced by the scent of the Febreze Fabric Refresher.

Effectiveness

In our recent experiments, we were able to use Febreze Fabric Refresher on a mattress that had been thrown up on 3 times when my daughter had the stomach flu in the middle of the night.  We removed the bedding and sprayed down the mattress, and all the foul smell disappeared.

Our toddler sometimes has diaper blowouts in bed, and he had an incredibly leaky diaper one night in his crib.  The crib mattress, although plastic and not fabric, still has crevices with fabric thread.  After wiping the mattress clean, we sprayed it with Febreze Fabric Refresher to penetrate the stitching and the urine odor was gone.

Perhaps the toughest job to date was the episode last night, in which my toddler threw up in our moving car.  Most of the back seat was effected, including carpet, seats, carseat, and more.  After spot cleaning the upholstery, we were able to spray down all the areas with the Febreze Fabric Refresher to eliminate the stench (which was enormous, I swear!).

If you’ve tried Febreze Fabric Refresher in the past, it’s time to try it again.  The new formula is improved to work even better and faster.  The new design of the package also sprays much cleaner without any messy drips.  Febreze Fabric Refresher works wonderfully and gets the Homemaker Barbi seal of approval!

You can purchase Febreze Fabric Refresher at Amazon or at your grocery store or mass merchandiser.  Thanks to Febreze for sending us a free review product of their new Febreze Fabric Refresher.
